AFWL will be held on the Friday 5th and
Saturday 6th August 2011.
It is an event that would be truly appreciated by
the designers, press, trade, buyers and visitors
to the fashion week and would be recognised
generally within the British fashion industry and
internationally as one of the top African Fashion
Weeks.
AFWL will bring together all of the fashion
industry’s greats. including culturally diverse
emerging, aspiring and established designers,
publishers, fashion icons, fashionistas
celebrities, media, socialites and members of
the public.

have ties to Africa and who want to cross over
into mainstream fashion. The two day event will
create an atmosphere for cultural exchange,
a fusion of western and African culture through
fashion.

Description: Couture. This designer has taken your traditional Gele and transformed it into a couture style bustier.

DESIGNER 2#: MOTHERLAND FABRICS
Description: Traditional Trendy. This designer takes a variety of traditional fabrics and turns them into modern designs.

Gentlemen: Please bring nice pair of denim jeans, black pants; black shoes and brown shoes.

Description: Urban Trendy. This designer blends urban/casual wear with cultural influences from Africa.
Ladies: Please bring Cooperative skirt; Beret; Oxford shoes (Preferably solid color)
Gentlemen: Please bring Khaki pants, Bermuda shorts; Loafers and Leather Flip Flops. (Preferably solid color)
Description: Accessories. This designer makes top quality, colorful and vibrant accessories such as handbags and hats made out of raw materials in Ghana providing a touch of glam.
Ladies: Please bring short fitted bold solid color dress (i.e. blue, purple, red, pink, etc..) Think short summer dresses you can see easily see at H&M or Forever21; again bold colors to compliment the accessories.
Description: Swimwear. This designer provides trendsetting swimwear which is known for its striking, exotic, and ethnic prints/designs.
Ladies: Please bring nice variety of high heels and/or strappy sandal heels (colors such as nude, gold, silver, or black); Sunglasses and/or Straw hats.
Gentlemen: Please bring Sunglasses and/or straw hat; solid color V-neck t-shirt; white tank top; solid color leather flip flops.
