AFWL will be held on the Friday 5th and
Saturday 6th August 2011.
It is an event that would be truly appreciated by
the designers, press, trade, buyers and visitors
to the fashion week and would be recognised
generally within the British fashion industry and
internationally as one of the top African Fashion
Weeks.
AFWL will bring together all of the fashion
industry’s greats. including culturally diverse
emerging, aspiring and established designers,
publishers, fashion icons, fashionistas
celebrities, media, socialites and members of
the public.

AFWL is produced and event managed by
Mahogany Events who have over 15 years
experience of producing fashion shows around
the world.
AFWL is a platform that will showcase top
international fashion designers alongside new
and emerging designers (Revelation) who use
African fabrics in their designs, are inspired by
the African culture, sell to the African market,
have ties to Africa and who want to cross over
into mainstream fashion. The two day event will
create an atmosphere for cultural exchange,
a fusion of western and African culture through
fashion.

“Rippin’ the Runway/M.I. Concert” on Saturday, July 2^nd, 2011 at the Nigerian Arts, Music, & Cultural Festival in Orlando, Florida.

This event, is being labeled the most Fashion Forward event of the weekend which celebrates the music and fashion relationship.

Designers showcasing are:

DESIGNER #1: TOLA’S COUTURE

Description: Couture. This designer has taken your traditional Gele and transformed it into a couture style bustier.

Ladies: Please bring short denim shorts, short skirt, or skinny jeans; black leggings; black tank top; strapless black bra or black tube top; nice high heel.

DESIGNER 2#: MOTHERLAND FABRICS

Description: Traditional Trendy. This designer takes a variety of traditional fabrics and turns them into modern designs.

Ladies: Please bring strapless bra or black tube top; nice high heels preferably black or gold.

Gentlemen: Please bring nice pair of denim jeans, black pants; black shoes and brown shoes.

DESIGNER #3: MOTHERLAND KROOKS www.motherlandkrooks.com

Description: Urban Trendy. This designer blends urban/casual wear with cultural influences from Africa.

Ladies: Please bring Cooperative skirt; Beret; Oxford shoes (Preferably solid color)

Gentlemen: Please bring Khaki pants, Bermuda shorts; Loafers and Leather Flip Flops. (Preferably solid color)

DESIGNER #4: DIVA DELICIOUS www.mydivadelicious.com

Description: Accessories. This designer makes top quality, colorful and vibrant accessories such as handbags and hats made out of raw materials in Ghana providing a touch of glam.

Ladies: Please bring short fitted bold solid color dress (i.e. blue, purple, red, pink, etc..) Think short summer dresses you can see easily see at H&M or Forever21; again bold colors to compliment the accessories.

DESIGNER #5: AYA MORRISON www.ayamorrison.com

Description: Swimwear. This designer provides trendsetting swimwear which is known for its striking, exotic, and ethnic prints/designs.

Ladies: Please bring nice variety of high heels and/or strappy sandal heels (colors such as nude, gold, silver, or black); Sunglasses and/or Straw hats.

Gentlemen: Please bring Sunglasses and/or straw hat; solid color V-neck t-shirt; white tank top; solid color leather flip flops.

FASHIONMIST 2011

We would like to introduce to you FashionMist, a brand new exhibition/catwalk show scheduled in March, depicting Fashion- the African way in aid of the charity organisation Global Mamas (http://www.globalmamas.org/)

The concept of this event was particularly designed to impose ‘Ethnic garments’ not only as an ephemeral trend but as part of the Fashion retail consumer habits. Through this, we hope to raise awareness for some of the fantastic work done by a number of charities on the continent.
FashionMist gathered onto one platform a selection of very talented and inspirational designers showcasing exclusive collections as well as over 10 other designers (all of African descent) including DIVA DELICIOUS exhibited their designs.

The entire show aimed at unearthing talents, inspire, boosting interest among young African generation. It is our belief that this could be the start of placing the African fashion industry in its global position and for a sustainable source of employment on the continent.

MINI BIO ABOUT US...

I am Sandi Owusu. 25 year old nurse. Creator and CEO of Diva Delicious

I am also a model, so you'll find me in prints, videos and on the catwalks sometimes.

Basically, I am a fashion addict; I didn't really find anything that suited my style entirely, so I decided to design and make my own accessories just the way i like it - I started creating for myself, then my family, then my friends --and I thought, " I can actually make money out of this," so I decided to make an accessories line, starting with bags and hats, this was in the beginning of 2008.

Diva Delicious is a fashion brand that currently deals with accessories with raw materials made in Ghana and a touch of glam. Diva because everything in the Accessories line is top quality and loud (in a good way) and Delicious, because it's craving, eye candy, colorful and artistic

.It targets every girl, lady and woman. Everyone has a "diva" side. THAT IS DIVA DELICIOUS. We have bags, hats and in the near future will be starting sunglasses and slippers.

All designs and accessorizing are made solely by me and i try to make each and every bag as unique as possible.I do custom made work as well, not everybody is a designer so i merge ideas of what people want with my design instincts to create the best end product.

So far the feedback from people on the line is OVERWHELMING. It's so positive.

We are concentrating on the hats and bags hopefully to expand throughout Africa and the world at large and but we are also currently sketching sunglasses and slippers for the near future.

We also do shipping to all parts of the world.
